by way of introduction

"Women need a reason to have sex. Men just need a place." -Billy Crystal

"Quid rides? Mutato nomine de te fabula narratur." -Horance

Sex is at once the most banal and the most endlessly fascinating aspect of human life: banal because it is common and base, the fundamental act of our species' reproduction; fascinating, because the biological imperative is refracted through personality, culture and language into an infinite variety of constellations of light and darkness. Sexuality, rooted in the most necessary aspect of our lives as creatures, ends up being the most contingent and variegated expression of need and fear, conscious and unconscious, desire and display. It is the infinite field of performative possibilities in which the ultimate contingency of the human self is most vividly displayed.

So this blog will be about sex, though not the abstract sense. This is my sexual diary. I am a sexually voracious and curious man. I have a lot of sex, and actively seek out new sexual experiences. Slutty? Promiscuous? It's all a matter of perspective, I guess. I regard sexual experience as a mode of self-exploration, a technology of the self. I like to push the envelope...to see what I may learn about my self.

If you are offended by sexually explicit discourse, this blog will offend the hell out of you. I'm gay (or kinda bisexual, but I haven't been with a woman in several years), so if male-male sex makes you squeamish, this blog will make you hurl. I have sex a lot, and with a lot of different people, so if you have a lot of opinions about promiscuity, bath houses, anonymous sex, etc., this blog will probably enrage you. Caveat emptor. You have been warned.
